Evelyn Stewart is a young artist from Haines Junction, Yukon. At 10 years old, she rarely goes anywhere without her sketchbook. Evelyn spends her time reading, writing, playing soccer, dancing and playing piano, but art is what she loves most. She also enjoys the outdoors with her family on canoeing and camping adventures throughout the Yukon and Canada. Evelyn works with watercolours and acrylics, and also loves sketching, colouring, and drawing with markers. For her, art is a way to draw, colour, paint, or sketch anything she sees, touches, imagines, or feels.
Featuring watercolours, acrylics, sketches, and other mediums, Outside My Window, is inspired by the beautiful surroundings where Evelyn lives and spends her time. Many of the pieces in the exhibit she created outside during family adventures. Each one offers a window into either her imagination or places that are special to her.
The theme Outside My Window has two meanings. Evelyn’s artwork is inspired by what is outside nature, the places around her, and the beautiful Yukon landscape. Her art also reflects the way she sees the world. Her eyes are her windows, and through her creations, she invites others to see the world through them.
