Join Whitehorse-based artist Ava P Christl for an artist talk exploring her exhibition and the ideas, places and processes behind the work.
Created over the past five years in the Yukon, Iceland and Svalbard, Norway, the works offer a deep bow to the boreal forests that sustain us. Christl reflects on forests as interconnected living systems—storing carbon and fresh water, creating soil and shelter, and providing habitat for millions of animals and humans.
Through her work, Christl invites us to consider our own relationship with the boreal forest and the importance of its preservation and protection, while expressing gratitude for these vital northern landscapes and the life they sustain.
