Governance
The Yukon Arts Centre Corporation is governed by a Board of Directors drawn from all sectors of the community and appointed by the Legislature. The board is a Policy Governance Board modeled after the work of John and Miriam Carver. The board governs with an emphasis on strategic leadership and outward vision.
Appointments
As directed by the Arts Centre Act, the members of the board are appointed by the Minister of Tourism and Culture, with three of them chosen at the sole discretion of the Minister. The remainder of them are chosen after consultation with groups promoting the fine arts in the Yukon, with a view to achieving adequate representation of those groups and their audiences.
Terms
Board members are appointed for a term of three years and may be appointed for further terms. Any given board member may serve two consecutive terms but is not eligible for reappointment during the 12 months following expiration of the second term.
Board Nomination Form
Nominations for our Board of Directors are currently open and the forms are available through the Yukon Government Executive Council Office. Click for more information and nomination forms.
