“yisikoo goodax sa keeydzitee: you know where you came from/existed” by Ken Anderson, member of Teslin Tlight Council, is a site-specific functional sculpture crafted from steel and concrete. The piece features a canoe-shaped firepit at its center, surrounded by dorsal fin-shaped concrete benches. The benches, with their polished surfaces and embedded river stones, symbolize the flowing Yukon river. Flowers planted within the ovoid dorsal fins pay tribute to the intricate floral beadwork of Anderson’s grandmother, weaving together themes of heritage, land, and memory.
