Host Claire Ness
Claire Ness grew up in Whitehorse, then studied Comedy Writing and Performance at Humber College in Toronto and Circus Training at École Nationale de Cirque in Montréal.
Claire is a prolific songwriter in a variety of genres: blues, country, folk, jazz, children’s, musical theatre, francophone, and comedy. Her catchy tunes contain vivid imagery, elaborate metaphor, historical allusions, and intricate storytelling.
Claire is a recipient of the the Yukon 125 medal, an award given to 125 Yukoners who embody the values of leadership and reconciliation and who contributed significantly to the wellbeing of the territory.
Claire is the Founding Artistic Director of the Yukon Circus Society and for the past 15 years has been focused on bringing circus workshops and performances to Yukon communities. For more information on the Yukon Circus Society, check out their website.
