Caribou connect people and places across the North — from the Yukon to Alaska, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, Greenland, and beyond. Inspired by The Caribou Project by Lianne Charlie (Tagé Cho Hudän, Northern Tutchone-speaking people of the Yukon) and Nic Hyatt, we invite youth ages 4–18 to create two-dimensional artworks, including drawing, painting, collage, photography, or digital art, that celebrate or reflect on caribou and reindeer. (Sorry no sculptures!)
Your artwork might explore movement, migration, community, or your own connection to these animals and the northern landscape. Artworks will be showcased at the the Yukon Arts Centre as part of a special youth art display celebrating creativity across Arctic Winter Games regions.
In partnership with Arctic Winter Games Whitehorse 2026 and the Yukon Arts Centre.
DEADLINE: FEB 1, 2026.
Please drop off to Yukon Arts Centre or contact mike.thomas@yac.ca if you have any questions. Artwork will be on display during March and April in the ATCO Electric Yukon Youth Gallery.
