YAC has a mandate as the Yukon's premier performing and visual arts presenter to be a social, cultural, and economic development force. We intend to be a model for the development of the arts in the North and a stimulus for a vibrant and creative territory. Selections for performing arts are made by the Director of Presenting, while visual arts selections are made by our Director of Visual Arts. If you're looking to be featured, or want to see something on our walls or stages, please check out How to Get Involved for more information.
YAC has three spaces available to rent, including the main stage, studio theatre at 300 College Drive, and the Old Firehall located in downtown Whitehorse. To find out more about renting these spaces, Click Here.
The Yukon Arts Centre supports artists in a number of ways. Between being a frequent presenter of performing and visual Yukon artists, we also offer multiple residencies, and DIY gallery space, and rental spaces for rehearsals and performances.
The Yukon Arts Centre is funded through the dedicated public support by Yukon Government, Government of Canada: Department of Heritage, Canada Council for the Arts, and the City of Whitehorse. We have a proud private community sponsor team including Northwestel, Yukon Brewing, and Northern Vision Development, and a dedicated local donor community of passionate arts supporters like you. We could not do the work we do without this dedicated support of our country and community.
There are many ways to support the Yukon Arts Centre and the work we do! Learn more about our volunteer program here, or our donation program here.
