Created at the Canyon is an annual interactive outdoor art event hosted by the Yukon Conservation Society where six Yukon artists come together and create artwork inspired by Miles Canyon in Whitehorse. This year, over 450 locals and visitors alike came to watch the featured artists work with media such as bead work and audio to create beautiful and diverse artwork. Their finished work, inspired by the culturally and ecologically significant landscape of Miles Canyon, will be on display at the Yukon Arts Centre Community Gallery from August 1-30.
The six featured artists this year were: Borealis Soul, Dixie Smeeton, Keitha Clark, Chantel Goodman, Dan Brown Hozjan and Cathy Routledge.
Come to the opening reception on August 1 at 5 p.m. at the Yukon Arts Centre. There will be catering and speeches.
