Looking for a place to hold an event? We have the spaces to suit all your needs for festivals, conventions, meetings, conferences, weddings, family reunions (or other celebrations), workshops, community events, artistic performances, visual art exhibitions, and rehearsal spaces.

Daily and weekly rates are available for equipment (tables, chairs – whatever you need), staging or technical support.

THE YUKON ARTS CENTRE

The cultural nucleus of the Territory is the YAC, which reflects the spirit of the Yukon and its people.

Venue Overview:

Capacity of the Yukon Arts Centre varies depending on room:

  • The Mainstage Theatre – a proscenium stage with raked seating and a balcony. Seating capacity is 428, 10 of which are for mobility challenged individuals & their companions
  • As an alternative, the Mainstage Theatre stage can be set up Cabaret Style with seating for 137
  • The Studio Theatre is ideal for rehearsals, small presentations/performances, meetings or private receptions. The Studio Theatre has a range of seating capacities from 40-100
  • The Green Room – A private lounge area for performers, or as an intimate space for small meetings or receptions. Is equipped with a full kitchen
  • The Lobby offers a bright large space with a variety of set up options
  • Public & Community Galleries – Are available to rent, but may come with restrictions due to the artworks and is up to the discretion of the Gallery Director

This venue is a licensed facility operating under the guidelines of the Yukon Liquor Act. Only YAC staff members may sell and serve liquor on the premises, and the license states that the YAC must be the sole supplier and server of wine and spirits.

THE OLD FIRE HALL

A downtown cultural hub, the Old Fire Hall hosts events, performances, exhibitions, town halls, lectures and workshops for groups of all sizes.

Venue Overview:

Capacity of the Old Fire Hall varies depending on room:

  • Raked Theatre Seating – Holds 52 on risers
  • Small Performance Stage – 120 seats on one level
  • Dance – 120 seats around the outer perimeter of the room
  • Meetings – Possible Set Up #1: U-shaped table set up can accommodate up to 40 people. Additional row seats can be set up if necessary. Possible Set Up #2: Round tables to accommodate up to 80 people
  • Reception Set Up + Several Tables – Capacity 100-130 people standing

The facilities at the Old Fire Hall can be booked to host events scheduled between the hours of 8:00 am – 11:00 pm. Out of respect to the neighbours, all events must end by 11:00 pm and that the building is vacated by 12:00 am.

This venue is an unlicensed facility. Special Occasion or Reception Liquor Permits are available but hold a maximum capacity of 130 standing people (including all staff). The capacity has been determined by the Yukon Liquor Control Board. Any events with alcohol must have Host Liquor Liability Insurance.
