Tentrees opening for Donovan Woods show
Mar 25 2019
Award nominated Yukon singer/songwriter Gordie Tentrees will open up for Donovan Woods and the Opposition at the Yukon Arts Centre on March 29.
This road poet, multi-instrumentalist, and master storyteller brings the unexpected to stages across North America, Europe, Australia, UK & Ireland with 7 records behind him. From Celtic Connections (Glasgow, Scotland) to the National Folk Festival (Canberra, AU) his ability to hold an audience, weave melody, while juggling the dark with the light is infectious. Tentrees has performed at 754 concerts in 11 countries during the past four years alone He has done extensive lengthy tours as the opener for Fred Eaglesmith, Mary Gauthier, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, & Steve Poltz and knows how long 20 minutes as an opener actually is, 19 minutes.
Donovan Woods just recently won a Juno Award for best contemporary roots album of the year.

“In the rough cut vein of Kelly Joe Phelps or Fred Eaglesmith, Tentrees is gifted”
