What does it mean to wander in Whitehorse accompanied by varied degrees of light and darkness? This was the question that organized the "Yukon Wanderers" digital training and community arts partnership (2019-2021) to explore the ways in which improvised arts and movement tell us new stories about (dis)ability, place and belonging.
"Yukon Wanderers" offers digital traces of movement, memory and engagement. The project culminates in an exhibit of a canvas mounted map of the shared locations, digital images and stories from the project. Images were taken by the group and printed onto metal. As the project adapted to the constraints of COVID-19, the images remind us of the beauty of the natural and built environment and all those that wander therein.
