From Ottawa's Winterlude, to the Canada 150 From the North pan-territorial tour, DJ DASH and the Dakhká Khwáan Dancers are making their mark on the Canadian music scene. This year, they're solidifying their place as contemporary Indigenous trailblazers with the release of their first album Deconstruct / Reconstruct. The Yukon Arts Centre is excited to include the launch party of this much antcipated album. 

Join us for an evening of dance, music, and celebration as the Dakhká Khwáan Dancers and DJ DASH launch their new album with a full concert performance.

The Dakhká Khwáan Dancers work to bring opportunity of cultural revitalization and social transformation within our communities by reclaiming our languages, traditional values through the traditional art form of song, drumming, dance, storytelling. Daniel Ashley AKA DASH was born and raised in the Yukon Territory, where he began his diverse entertainment career. His high energy performances engage audiences in a stunning blend of mcing, beatboxing, djing, and gymnastics. He has a gift for enthralling audiences of all ages and walks of life. DASH is a founding member of the Root Sellers, an electronic and Hip Hop fusion band based in the Yukon. He has also shared the stage with artists like Nick Thayer, The Funk Hunters, Sticky Buds, Jpod, Slynk, Timothy Wisdom and Ski Tour.

A few of DASH's most notable performances include: the 2008 Beijing Olympics Canada Pavillion, Evolve Festival, 2010 Vancouver Olympics Yukon Medal Ceremony and Paralympics Opening Ceremonies, Burning Man Festival in Nevada, Shambhala Music Festival, 2012 Artic Winter Games Song Relay Project and Opening Ceremonies, 2013 Atlin Arts and Music Festival and Skills Canada National Competition 2013 Opening Ceremonies and the 2014 Commodore Ballroom The Funk Hunters Live show.
