Join internationally acclaimed poet and spoken-word artist Sheri-D Wilson for an evening of poetry and music at the Old Fire Hall. Daniel Janke and Olivier de Colombel will accompany Sheri-D and the show will also feature Shahin MoComedy Sanjari, Chris Tse, and youth performers from the F.H Collins Slam Poetry Club.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for youth, and are available at Mac's Fireweed, Well Read Books and from event organizers.

Sheri-D Wilson is the award-winning author of eleven books, the creator of four short films, and has released three albums which combine music and poetry. She is known for her electric performance-style, making her a favorite of festivals around the world. She has read, performed & taught in festivals across Canada, USA, UK, France, Spain, Belgium, Mexico, and South Africa. In her poems, Wilson uses personal narrative to address themes of social justice, lost languages, bullying, violence against women and the earth.

Shahin Mohammadi is an improviser/actor/poet/paper folder/fruit-by-the-foot enthusiast from Victoria, BC who has lived in Whitehorse since last fall. He dived into the world of poetry a few years ago and has not looked back since. Shahin has performed in several cities across Canada, written for the literary magazine Oratorialis, and competed nationally at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word as part of the Victoria Slam team.
