The softness of home tanned hide, the sound of hammer to metal, or the story behind a salvaged object. Why are artists drawn to certain materials? This exhibition, featuring a selection of works from the Yukon Permanent Art Collection, poses this question and reveals answers in the form of diverse, handmade works and words inspired by the artists who made them.

2015 is Craft Year in Canada and we are pleased to showcase this fascinating part of the Yukon Permanent Art Collection, including eight brand new acquisitions. Found, Forged and Fused speaks to the process of transformation and the relationship of an artist with their medium. We hope you will find some unexpected discoveries within these works that were inspired by and crafted in the North.
