The Northwestel Hanging Sky Tour is a brand new series from the Yukon Arts Centre that brings some of the best from the YAC Presents season, to the rural Yukon communities.

Kicking off this series is Diyet & The Love Soldiers, coming to Carcross, Teslin, and Watson Lake, this October.

Diyet is Alternative Folk, Roots, Country and Traditional Aboriginal with melodies and stories deeply rooted in her Indigenous world view and northern life. Her songs are an interpretation of a northern reality: hard, raw and will break you if it can but at the same time, always beautiful, gentle, strange and intensely alive. She performs as a trio, Diyet & the Love Soldiers, with husband and collaborator, Robert van Lieshout on guitar and foot percussion and multi- instrumentalist, Bob Hamilton. Continuing to live with feet firmly planted in two worlds, Diyet’s adventurous and sometimes chaotic life is on full display in her music. She often says, “yesterday, fishing for our dinner on the ice, the next day, on the stage singing for you!”
