Alexandra Feit is a painter who lives in Haines, Alaska. She has a BFA and MFA from the San Francisco Art Inst. and recently finished a residency at the Macauley House in Dawson City, Yukon.

Feit's paintings are made with wax and pigment on wood backs. The wax creates a lush surface with the light seeming to come up from within the painting.  Nature is the foremost inspiration for her paintings. Feit's goal is to hone down the subtleties of light and quiet and achieve the feel of a moment in each piece. Subtle shapes and colors lead one to the minutia of experience. Ms. Feit is interested in getting the viewer to slow down and enjoy the richness of quiet.
