Dir. Wes Anderson
USA, 2012, 94 minutes

Wes Anderson’s absurdist comedy involves a pair of young lovers who flee their New England town, causing a local search party to fan out and find them. Renowned for his signature fantastic and meticulous art direction, Anderson sheds his hipster cool to create a warm and emotional fairy-tale. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl’s parents. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl.

“Wondrously beautiful. One of Wes Anderson’s supreme achievements.”
