Representing Canada, Kara Sievewright is a writer and artist who creates graphic stories, prints, zines, websites and books. She has published writing, illustrations and graphic stories in carte blancheWorld War Three IllustratedBroken Pencilfiling station and West Coast Line. She has exhibited her comics and books in Poland, Chicago, Paris, Toronto, New York, and at many zine and comic festivals. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia and is working on a graphic novel with funding from the Toronto Arts Council. Also representing Canada, Nicole Bauberger is an artist and arts writer based in Whitehorse. She has made her home here since 2003 with her partner Dean Eyre and her stepdaughter Ariel Durant. She now has a truck and a beloved dog to sit in it, so she figures she’s kind of arrived in the Yukon. Her observation-based work engages closely and whimsically with a sense of place.
