Every November, students from across the territory converge on the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture (KIAC) for a week of specialized instruction with practicing, professional artists. KIAC hosts up to 48 Yukon students from grades 8 to 12, who, in addtion to participating in a variety of multidisciplinary workshops, also have the chance to tour the Yukon School of Visual Arts and meet the KIAC artists in residence. This month, the Youth Gallery at YAC is featuring works by last year's students. These pieces were produced during workshops on the Fundamentals of Drawing with Meshell Melvin, Silkscreening 101 with the Klondike Drawing Company, Improv, Acting & More with George Maratos, and Hand Made Films with Morgan Tams.
