Portraits features the work of young artist, Daphne Lovett-Barber.

Daphne Lovett-Barber has been creating portraits of people for the past two years, most of them are of Emily Carr University students and teachers where her mom attended. In Vancouver, she attended Arts Umbrella Art/Dance Immersion program for 3-5 year olds. Every week her teacher loved watching her add a little detail  to her portrait of her Grandma.

On display is just a small selection of Daphne’s portraits.  Her mom would say, can you draw a portrait of him or her and Daphne would grab a pencil, pen or marker and ask her mom for some paper and go ahead and do it. Both her parents are artists, her mother a filmmaker and her father a metal sculptor. She is good at drawing, painting and loves to sculpt clay, she even sculpts people's names with plastercine. Daphne is 5 years old and a Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in citizen from Dawson City, Yukon.

The Yukon Arts Centre Invites you to come experience this expressive collection of portraits.
