Owen Williams’ Art Exhibition

Owen Williams’ Art Exhibition

There’s a colourful new exhibit up in the ATCO Electric Yukon Youth Gallery! Stop by from March 5-31st to see Owen Williams’ beautiful artwork.

“Owen Williams is 7 years old and has been into art his whole life. His grandma has been an inspiration and has always encouraged him to explore art. He enjoys using colours in different ways and experimenting with lines. He likes to use art to express his ideas.  Art is awesome!”

Join us on March 8th at 5:30pm at an opening reception for all four of our upcoming gallery exhibits (“Ready Player Two” by Brendan Lee Satish Tang and Sonny Assu, “Filling the Void” by Mark Preston, “Head On/Face Off” a portrait series by the SOVA students).

Changes to the Yukon Arts Centre Box Office Services

Changes to the Yukon Arts Centre Box Office Services

The Yukon Arts Centre (YAC) and the Yukon Art Society have mutually elected to discontinue the YAC box office services at the Hougen Ticket Office, located at Arts Underground, due to consistent, annual decreases in usage and demand. The decision was also further supported by the results of an audience survey initiated by YAC (which had an 84% response rate) to assess audience buying habits and preferences. Since the introduction of online ticket sales, in person box office sales at both YAC and Arts Underground have seen a steady decline in recent years:

“The Yukon Arts Centre is one of the founding partners of Arts Underground and we are grateful for the invaluable role YAC has played in our ongoing history. However, with the increase in popularity of online ticket sales, we have found that the Ticket Office is no longer a financially viable component of our partnership. We look forward to developing new ways to collaborate in the years ahead.”
-Chris Scherbarth, President, Yukon Art Society

“The partnership between YAC and the Yukon Art Society will continue to be strong while evolving to focus on new programming collaborations including artist workshops, talks, events, and residencies. YAC continues to be committed to providing reliable ticketing services for the Yukon and to that end, will be investing in our digital infrastructure in the coming months to better support purchase experiences for patrons in Whitehorse and throughout the Territory.”
-Casey Prescott, CEO, Yukon Arts Centre

Box office services will continue to be available at the Yukon Arts Centre, with new hours to better support customer service and align with audience purchase habits:

Box Office Hours of Operation: Tuesday-Friday, 12pm-3pm (and one hour prior to all mainstage events)
Phone Hours: (667-8574) Monday-Friday, 10am-12pm
